How do I apply for a UK passport?

You can use gov.uk online services to apply for, renew, replace or update your passport and pay for it online. To begin the process please click here

What do I need to apply?

You need a digital photo to apply for a passport online. You must get a new photo when you get a new passport, even if your appearance has not changed. Your photo must have been taken in the last month. Your application will be delayed if your photos do not meet the rules. For specific guidelines on acceptable passport photos please click here

You need 2 identical printed photos if you are applying for a passport using a paper form. Please click here for more information

What is the cost?

How much your passport costs depends on how you apply for it. For example, for an adult (16 or over) applying online for a standard passport the cost is £75.50 & £85

for a paper copy. For a child (under 16) a standard passport costs £49 on line and £58.50 for a paper copy.
